This only issue I have with giving them mushrooms, is they don’t seem to like the rubbery texture. They seem to find the tiniest piece. We always have mushrooms in the house, so any suggestions on how to feed it? I would appreciate.

There are many great mushrooms, each one having special functions/benefits. But in general, it does not matter what kind of mushroom.
