If raw milk is SO great, why isn’t my human healthcare provider talking about it?
.
Here’s the short answer…because it’s “illegal” for human consumption in many states.
.
Want the long answer? I have that too… It’s because many of these natural healthcare providers don’t really realize the benefits of raw milk, let alone, raw goat milk (They don’t learn about it in school.) Most likely, they probably don’t learn about it because it’s “illegal“ in many states.
.
So… maybe we should hit a few pieces of misinformation, then we’ll talk the good stuff.
And if you want more good information from an expert out there, go to the Weston A Price foundation.
.
Some misinformation first:
1. It’s high fat. Actually… Most milk is 3% fat. 3% protein, and all the rest is water.
2. It’s not nutritious. Actually… babies are born in all mammalian species and are designed to drink raw milk. And these babies get big. And fat. So there must be something right in this milk. Like whatever thing it is that created life, must’ve designed raw breastmilk to make happy, healthy babies. or puppies. or kittens. or calves. or foals. You get my point.
.
Or at least I hope you get my point. Raw breast milk was designed to be 100% complete and balanced for a mammalian infant. And adult nutritional needs are very similar to those of infants. Just most women don’t want to breast feed a grown up – they have teeth! Ouch!
.
So what about this information is so terrible that adults shouldn’t drink raw milk? Who said this? Who started this? What industry were they protecting?
.
Was this a matter of lots of adult people/dogs/cats that don’t digest pasteurized milk well and many are lactose intolerant (cuz the milk is pasteurized and no longer has natural enzymes to help with digestion) so the “health system” simply discourages fresh/ raw milk?
.
Or, is it the $70 billion pet feed industry who wants you to feed your pet synthetic “nutrition” rather than REAL nutrition?
.
Ok. I dipped a little into conspiracy theory. Oops.
.
But. I can tell you that if you look at recent articles about humans drinking raw milk there’s actually a lot of shaming going on. Anything from “You’re taking milk away from babies” to “Ew, you smell like a baby.”
.
Funny. Societal pressure being what it is.
.
Ok..
I’m a pet natural health consultant.

Let’s talk about why I LOVE raw milk, especially raw goat milk:
.
This is just my experience, I don’t have any published evidence to share (Weston a price foundation might) This is just what I see in action:
- Raw goat milk can help with digestion (has it’s own enzymes)
- Can rehydrate the body. You know. Cuz it’s 90-95% water. So it works great for kidney failure, liver failure, most conditions.
- The fermented version adds probiotics to your pet’s life (thus helps the gut)
- This is my (not so) secret answer to pancreatitis (you better read my pancreas post before you freak out about fat and all the misinformation we vets perpetuate cuz we forgot what we learned in vet school. And. Go back up to the top of this and reread the line about 3% milk fat.)
- In my experience it can help flush heavy metals and round up out of the system. And cuz it’s balanced for babies it provides many micro nutrients.
.
Raw milk. Good stuff. Too bad humans don’t know about it. Or maybe it’s better for those of us who do know – better health for those willing to risk a little natural food in its natural state.
