We’ve heard our animals need to be socialized . Dogs and cats are better citizens when they get along with other dogs and cats.
But what are the circumstances under which this can happen?
Well, there’s doggy daycare. But animals are required to have “all of their shots“. Even though the only vaccine required by law is rabies. There’s zero law saying that a dog needs to have anything more than rabies to go to daycare. It’s just the daycare covering their rear end and not understanding science.
Dog bars. Same thing!
Fact #1: Rabies does not transmit by sniffing another dog’s rear end.
Fact #2: Any dog who has been vaccinated against distemper, parvo, and rabies after four months of age is protected for life. Life.
I don’t get it. Why do these places insist on it?
And so when we want to “socialize“ our dogs, we put these poisons into their bodies. Poison? Really? I did have someone challenge me on that recently. It’s a very valid, fair question. Documented – we know that aluminum and mercury are in all pet vaccines. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Vaccine companies won’t actually disclose what all of the ingredients are. They claim it’s “proprietary“.

OK..anyways, back to socialization.

I’ve seen animals get attacked at parks, clubs, bars. So going to any one of these places that demands vaccines does not demand good behavior.
Absolutely I have seen animals pick up disease by going to these places. And no, obviously it’s not the big three against which they are vaccinated. It’s not distemper, parvo or rabies. It’s some unknown little intestinal irritant that creates 3 to 5 days of G.I. upset. Sometimes it’s kennel cough or some little respiratory irritant. Because the vaccine does not protect against kennel cough!
Sadly, people constantly run to the vet when things like this happen. And the vet gives out antibiotics as if they have no side effects. But we don’t give antibiotics for viruses. We give immune building herbs.
So socialization is great. But not at the price of our animals, health! And challenges. The health can come from over vaccination, vaccine reaction, and being attacked by dogs that don’t have any manners.
Just because they’re 10 dogs at the dog bar doesn’t mean that all the dogs have proper manners. And, probably, their parents are drinking and not paying attention, so the dogs will act out like any toddler when the parents aren’t watching.
