You gotta ask WHY does my dog have low thyroid? Did your veterinarian run the full panel (T3, T4, free T3, free T4, TGAA that gets sent off to another lab, ideally Hemopet http://www.hemopet.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=24&Itemid=39 or a quick, in-house panel that only measures T4? If it was the latter, your dog may not really have a thyroid problem at all. A million things suppress the thyroid gland and make it under function, while the overall capability of the thyroid is still strong. If your dog had a real thyroid panel run, Armor thyroid is a superior product. Also, there are whole food supplements of ground thyroid gland – Standard Process makes Thyrotropin, Biotics makes Cytozyme Thy – and there are other great products that work the same.
